The image on this beveled glass ornament is from wallpaper found during the initial restoration of Locust Grove. A strip of original wallpaper was revealed when a rotting bathroom wall was removed. Additional walls, erected during a remodel by Dr. John Croghan, were taken down, revealing more wallpaper. Research indicates that the Croghans installed this American production of a French wallpaper before 1810. The wallpaper has been reproduced for Locust Grove by Adelphi Paper Hangings. Ornament dimensions 3½” x 3" x 1/8”. Packaged with an information card in gift box. Box dimensions 3 ½” x 3 ½” 1”.
